Art and visual culture for me is one kind of language.
Language which you use to express yourself. To say something beautiful to one another or to argue with one you disagree To comment on the world around or to tell a story you wish to tell. Language which you need to learn to understand, to read, to write, to speak. Language which is global but has it's fine variety of dialects, everyone of them as important as other. Language which has it's words you might not yet understand but also it's words you born into knowing. It is a language one needs to use to keep it in mind, and a language which ignoring you become deaf and blind. |
